You have done a fantastic job!

nicely done... i watched the video earlier and leah used the outside fabric in the center and the not matching didn't look good. i like that you used the same fabric for the entire star... the not matching doesn't show up your way.

That is great! What size are your blocks? I would love to see your entire quilt too.

After reading this post, I was very disturbed by Leah Day's Slash Star, found my star top that used the same method.
I cut a piece of freezer paper the size of the star I wanted, drew the star and then just cut it from a stack of fabrics. It is sooo easy to piece them and then turn as you wish so they kinda spin.
E. Burns did the same method with her crazy patch blocks a long time ago, trim when each block when all sewn.

My blocks finish at 12 1/2", so figure I must have started with a 15-16" square of each fabric. This was my class sample and blocks are set 4x4, it is a very old UFO, so when I go through my stash, better find fabrics to finish it.

Thank you all for the comments, if I could do it, so can everyone.

Did you cut your star in one piece? All the videos that I found, the star seams don't match, and look odd. All the seams of your star match. Guess I still need more info, if you could please? Love the idea of Christmas fabric, because I have so much of it. Thanks for any help you can offer.
