I have the book, but have not had the nerve to try this technique. Yours is beautiful, I probably should take a class too!

A stack n whack is where you stack (in this case 4 layers of fabric, but you can do 6 or 8 layers) and line the material up on the repeat of the fabric design, then you cut as directed in your pattern (in this case the pattern if Four Patch Poesy (4 layers) but there is also a book called Stack n Whack that give the 6 and 8 layer method). In some cases you can use some butt ugly fabric and come up with some beautiful blocks. The key is to have variation in the design first and/or color. Ok, is that all clear as mud? Hope it helps. I used to live in Central NY. I knew a guy in Ogdensburg named Mark Sperling, do you happen to know him? Marie |
You did a great job. Very pretty fabric choice.

"I used to live in Central NY. I knew a guy in Ogdensburg named Mark Sperling, do you happen to know him?" I know of the Bun Sperling family, they used to own a furniture store here in town. It went out of business years ago. The name Mark doesn't ring a bell with me but he very well could have been a son of theirs. |
superb

Very, very nice. I haven't gotten up the courage to try one of these quilts yet.
