Yes, it is hand quilting thread. I don't remember the brand but probably Coats. I use it a lot and don't have any trouble with it. I'll try and post a close up of the quilting.

You're right. It takes months. This one was probably nine months to a year. That doesn't mean I'm working on it continuously as I squeeze in other projects before it's finished. That's why I always have a stack of tops that need finishing. I just prefer the looks of hand quilting. I think it's worth the time and effort.

Very pretty....I have done about 8 stack & whacks like this and never get tired of doing another one. I have never done one in Christmas fabrics though.
Is yours done in Christmas fabric? Whatever it is it is very pretty. I like it set with the sashing.

No, it's not Christmas fabrics. It's a floral - peachy pink, green leaves, black background. Closest I had that looked wintery. Pretty, but prefer bright springy colors. I'll probably be rusing spring and change this out about February. I really get tired of winter.
