OM!! That is one very handsome (beautiful) quilt, and given it's history I am sure treasured!!

For those of you who wonder about the Ribbon Weave design, it really is a Stack 'n' Whack and I found the directions in Stack 'n' Whackipedia, also by Bethany Reynolds who wrote the original S 'n' W book. It probably is the simplest one to make and it only requires four repeats of the fabric design.

It is so much fun to see what kaleidoscope design will be made with the Stack 'n whack method. Guys especially love them. I made one for my grandson of tropical fish fabric with blues/orange/turquoise. He loves it.
