This is for my dgd, who is graduating in May. She is my birth grandaughter. My daughter was sexally assaulted when she was 13 and became pregnant. She chose adoption for her baby. The adoptive parents have kept in touch with my daughter and have kind of adopted her, too. Two years ago, I got to meet Emily and her family again. I had not seen them since they took her home from the hospital. It was justl like having a new granddaughter! She is on FB and I get to see her activities. I'm so excited to be going to her graduation. I love to tell our story, as God orchestrated a beatiful thing out of something that started so ugly.
You ladies on this board inspired me to have the courage to try this quilt. I have learned so much and am so thankful for you all! |
It is so good when adoptive parents keep in touch with birth mothers or when after many years they find each other. Your heart just grows a little bigger, God knows when the time is right

Beautiful quilt, and your "newGD" will love that you made it for her. Thanks for sharing your story and the quilt.

I hope your quilt is the beginning on many happy memories for both of you.

What a nice cheery quilt you have made for Emily.
As you did not mention your daughter, I only hope that your daughter has been able to move forward for a positive life for herself. |
