I'm working on this. Please ignore the fact that it needs pressed. And some of my points aren't what I'd like them to be, but I am my own worst critic...

Kara that's beautiful! The points look perfect to me; and I love the dark red - really emphasises the star. Keep us updated with your progress, won't you?

So, are you going to tell us what exactly is wrong with it!!! I see beauty, precise work and great taste!! Look forward to seeing the finished article.

reneebobby 06-02-2009 02:11 AM

Very pretty

PrettyKitty 06-02-2009 04:57 AM

WOW that's brilliant!

Kara 06-02-2009 05:02 AM

I guess what really had me down were the 8 points in the very center. They were NOT playing nice...

So, I ripped apart the very center, and stitched it back together. They're playing MUCH nicer now. :D :D

Now, I'm totally in love with it!!! No idea how to quilt it yet... Thinking some wreath-like stuff, and 1/4" echo of the smaller diamonds (can you still call it "echo" if it's inside the diamonds??). Don't know about the squares and diamonds on the outside edge... hmmm ... needs some more thought.

Ninnie 06-02-2009 05:11 AM

That is going to be beautiful. I like a lot!!!

Kara - I've made one of these and I quilted wreaths in the big squares and echoed inside the outer points of the stars only. Just to let you know what I did - doeasn't mean you have to do the same! :D

Just beautiful and the middle of the star looks great. I have done 2 stars which I gave one as a wedding gift and sold the other one. My big worry was the middle that it would not turn into a bowl or a tent. Your work is just super!!

conblond2005 06-04-2009 01:50 PM

Your points look good to me. That will be absolutely beautiful when all finished. Looks good now too.

rosemary128 06-04-2009 04:08 PM

It looks wonderful! I admire anyone who has the patience for these stars.
