Sorry Watson,
I sure don't like that when it happens to me. I'm glad it was not a total loss.

I'm so sorry to hear that Watson, but with your design skills I'm sure you'll make lemonade with those lemony cutouts. :)

Watson, sometimes it is much better to quit while early in the design process. Now just clear your mind, find another set of wonderful fabric and let the fabric tell you what it wants to be. Yeah, yeah, ........ I know way easier to say than do ...

Anyway, I'm making progress with my colorful fabric. I decided to take out the lighter green, it just wasn't looking right, so I replaced it with another blue. So I just need another 2 fabrics, another yellow and maybe a teal/green.

Great idea, Watson! I think it is fun to see a group of fabrics and then see what someone does with them. It shows personality and vision. I always like challenges that give a fabric or fabrics and see what others do with them compared to what I choose to do. It is always incredible to see the 'unveiling'. I hope lots of people go for your challenge.

I've sort of been following this thread since you started it Watson and intended to take part sooner, but quilting got in the way :D. However, I think it's a great thread and I've really enjoyed seeing everone's fabric and pattern choices. There are going to be some awesome quilts made!!

So i finally have some input on my latest project to add to the growing list. I started with a Moda Jelly Roll - Southern Exposure that I had on hand and picked up a background fabric being a Moda Batik from the Wild Waves collection after finding a free pattern on the web called Summer at the Beach on England Street Quilts blog. The quilt is now loaded on the longarm, but here are my progression pictures leading up to it... I admit, I was not in love with the jelly roll when I started. My first jelly roll project too. But after working with the quilt, I'm actually quite pleased with it!

That's nice, Kwiltr. I would never have thought to put those colours together, but it sure came out looking great.

Kwiltr, your "jelly roll project" looks really nice. Can't wait to see how you quilted it.

Here's the flimsy to my yellow and greys. I was originally going to do a throw but my husband wanted a wall hanging for the living room which we just redecorated. After one botched attempt, I came up with this. I think I am going to quilt it with triangle spirals in each triangle and something simple in the border.

Watson, I like how that turned out. I'm still working on my parts. One half of the star points are done ...... this will take a while ....

Love your quilt Watson, especially the colour/fabric choices. Can't wait to see it quilted. It's going to make a beautiful wall hanging!
