I started this quilt sunday and I think it is coming out ok. It was a kit from a quilting retreat. The instructor chose the fabrics and gave the instructions to complete it. I am not crazy about it, so I am going to change it up some with blue forget me not dimentional flowers after it is quilted. Which is what I will start tomorrow.
The table toppers (candle mats) have theThanksgiving fabric dotcom ( Dottie) sent me in the ornament swap last friday. I got right on making it up so I could use it this thanksgiving. I used an easy six ruler to make them. The last pic is a pot holder that I was trying out a new pattern with. I like it and I think I might make more of them. Really a fun block to make with the fussy cuts in the center. I hope you gals likey! That quilt is beautiful. I love the fabric. And those table toppers are awesome and perfect for fall. Cardinals are my favorite birds so your pot holder is perfect for me. Great job on all and thanks for sharing.

Thanks girls!
This was the original potholder fabric that came in the tiny kit. Cute but not my favorite... Tiny pig potholder |
Oh I love them all! Do I get to pick one to keep? Oh maybe the last one that you don't like with the pig in the middle? LOL I love the candle mats. How did you get the centers to line up so nicely? Nice work!
|
Sure frannie! Pick one! My pleasure... :~) pm me the addy.
The centers have to rotate so the seams don't destort each other. These are all pressed clockwise! LOL! |
I like what you did. I will pick the cardinal pot holder. Thank you.
|
I like all of you work. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Beautiful quilt Red and I LOVE the star table mats. Those are 60 deg diamonds, right? I can do that! I might copy with Christmasy fabrics for my craft fair if I may! :-D
|
Love them all, great colors!
|
Thank you all so very much. I really appreciate you girls and your wonderful supportive comments. It is so nice to have ladies such as you giving such positive comments on my work. It makes me want to stretch myself further into the craft.
Something told me to change the colors of the four patch inside the blocks to a more defined colorway. It turned out such a mish-mash of design. Oh well.. Next time I will listen to myself! k3n You would flatter me to no end, please copy! These were fun to make. Red |

they are all very pretty... :-D

Thanks so much! I am so pleased that the quilt is so well recieved. I really thought this one was a wash when I got finished piecing it. I suppose once the quilting is done and the loose dimentional flowers are on it will make me happier. I am so used to creating something that has much more defination between the materials and I love to create those secondary designs.
It only goes to show sometimes a quilt surprises you in the end. Even if you don't like it. |
Oh man!!! that is pretty! I like them all!! But, love that purple!
|
Really like the Thanksgiving table toppers, but they're all really nice. Thanks for sharing the photos.
|
Purple is my favorite color and I absolutely love this quilt. Why don't you care for it? Is purple not your color? It looks beautiful. The girls in my guild constantly joke that I can't quilt unless I am using purple colored fabric in it somewhere. I even just made a Twister Christmas Tree and it is purple, green and gold Asian fabrics. Guess I really love my purple. And the candle mats are amazing. Your points are one I am jealous of. Great job on it all. THnaks for sharing

Oh Sandy, how did I miss this!? I LOVE this quilt. 1, Purple is/has always been a favorite color of mine. (It's hard to find pretty purple fabric sometimes.) 2, it has a Shabby Chic/Vintage feel to it. (Again another favorite.) It looks so soft and inviting. Very Very Pretty! Did you ever put the 3D flowers on it? Did you like it better?
Oh silly me, lol, I just saw at the beginning thread that you posted this in 2010. LOL, I wasn't a board member back then. Oh well, I still like it. :D |
I just love your candle mats did you have a pattern, and your quilt is lovely as well as your pot holders.
