My sewing buddy loves to help me. I took a few pictures of her intently cleaning my 128 handcrank...........uhm she's informed me she needs her own now. DGD has very little hair in this photo as she donated and had her hair shaved during our local Relay for Life. This was the second year she did this. The first year she made her grammy and mom shave our heads too.

What a darling you have!! Very generous and caring of others. You must be so pleased!
I've gotten the vintage bug too but it IS a lot of fun :D I don't have a hand crank though. Isn't it hard to work with?? |
Like your machine and your DGD is a real cutie.
|
those little fingers come in handy for the hard to reach places. Very kind of her to give up her hair for others. One of my friend's daughter is going through chemo right now and lost all her hair, she was able to have a wig made of some of her and a friends hair. It means a lot to them to have real hair.

It is very easy. DGD uses it all the time now so I really need to find her one of her own. She can even wind the bobbin herself. I find it relaxing to handcrank and the bonus is I can take it just about any where and it is quiet.

Such a pretty and thoughtful child. I bet you are glad that she is interested in sewing.

Beautiful machine! And beautiful GD too! My girls have donated their hair for Locks of Love.

Wonderful DGD, sewing machine and donation.
You're very lucky! |
Awwww reading this made me cry... What an unselfish and caring sweetheart your DGD is (((HUGS)))
I hope she gets her own machine soon :D:D:D |
What a sweet caring young lady. She needs her own machine.
|
Yes, I think her Grammy is going to start shopping for one for her for Christmas. I'd like to find one that needs cleaning and put together her own tool box for cleaning.

Darling GD! And super nice machine! My GD also had a ball ceaning our first vintage machine last week.
She got into every little nook and cranny and delighted in showing me how much dirt and grime she got with Q tips? I am sure she will be sewing on "her" machine soon. |
Your g'daughter is darling. So is your machine.
My g'mother brought a hand crank, table top sewing machine over from the Netherlands,in 1911, wrapped in a fether mattress. Is is what I learned to sew on when I was in 4-H. I still have it and treasure it. |
She is so adorable. I keep my hair almost as short as hers.
|
Hand crank machines are easy to work with because they sew such a straight line. Love mine!
|
She may not have alot of hair but she sure has "alot of heart". What a blessing she is to you and your family!
Oh, and love the machine too! |
What a sweetheart! May she be blessed with a wonderful machine of her own.
