Yes it is. Start with your background. Cut out your trees. Dont use a ruler. There are no strate lines in nature. Use a glue stick to plase all motifs where you want them. Embelish colors with markers, crayons, white out. Edge stitch everything down. then pin your batting and backing, freemotion as you wich. Then attach your sashing and your done. The trick is to relax and have fun. It's like painting with fabric. It's nature so there are no mistakes.

Janet, what size is this please and what markers did you use? It is looking more fabulous now and cannot wait to see the finished piece. Very clever and love the free form of it. We do not get snow where I live but this makes me wish we did :)

Thanks for answering the question re size, Janet. I have Nancy's book here I bought ages ago. I have just pulled it out of my bookcase to go through it again. Will you be doing a lot of thread painting in this one? I am presuming you mean Nancy Prince?

Wings 09-17-2010 06:25 PM

Have looked on the net and realise now you mean Nancy Ziemann.

Your winter landscape is beautiful, I feel like I could just take a walk in the snow.
