What a perfect weekend to work on quilting! We're getting dumped on with snow. Haven't seen the Sierra Nevada Mountains all day! So I decided to start a wall hanging using the maple leaf block. Here's a picture of the first completed block & a picture of the other 3 fabrics I'm using for leaves. The paisley pattern is more brown than gold. The plain square is a marble design (doesn't show well in the photo). Happy President's Day to all!

The colors are a little brighter in the photos. (more orange than the rust color) the block came out true to color. But... I got the leaf pattern (on left), paisley (in middle) & the marble (in block) at the quilt shop in town. The paisley was 40% off!! The print in the block was from Craft Market in Carson City and the leaf/acorn print was from JoAnns in Carson City...60% off!. I'll post pictures of each block & hope the colors come true to color. Thanks for asking!

I do hope you are planning on using a contrast fabric, such as a dark brown batik, to make those brilliant and wonderful fabrics pop.
