I thought that I would use up some leftover batiks. There are about 8 different fabric designs that make up this bag. The lining included.

Very nice looking bag, and great use of leftovers.

Great bag - love the flap over. Is this your pattern or can it be found on the "net"?

This is the 4th time I have used this the pattern. It has become my favorite pattern. It is called the Janet purse by Totes by Sandy. Your quilt shop can buy them from the designer. www.totesbysandy.com (no relation to me) I took the original pattern size and took off 2" to make it a "purse" size. You can check out my other purses/diaper bag posts in the pictures section of this board.

thanks for the kind words!

Love these bags..I have fabric and pattern, but still haven't got the nerves to start one.
I will get brave...

Aw, get going on one! Her directions are very clear! She has lots of pictures each step of the way. Just make sure that you use the same fusible fleece she uses...esp if you choose one of her patterns with grommets. I love this pattern. The first time I make one it too about 8 hours but now that I am familiar with it, 6-7 hours. I assemble the purse in 2-3 hour increments. Cut out the fabric and fusible fleece one day...sew the next.
