Storm at Sea

I have always wanted to make this pattern, and happened to come across one at a quilt expo that included the paper pieces. I think you can make it without, but was happy to make it the paper pieced way. The print fabrics were old "tiny viney" Cranston/VIP fabrics that I found at the thrift store. It is a nice lap size. Off the bucket list! Thanks for looking.

Pretty!

Some of the old VIP fabrics are - in my opinion - very good quality.

I still like tiny-viney prints. Many of them read like a solid from a distance.

Absolutely love it! I still want to try this pattern but NOT paper piece-lol You did a great job.

Beautiful. You deserve to feel satisfied!

Oh wow, Beautiful job! I’d want mine done with paper piecing as well.

Love that you kept it two tone. Beautiful quilt.

The Storm at Sea is also on my bucket list, where did you find the paper pieced version as I love paper piecing?
Nice job by the way.

Lovely work! And those leaves make a nice quilting pattern for it.

I love the two tones and have always wanted to make it too. Pieced or paper piecing is fine but I have so much on my plate right now, it will have to wait. I hope mine comes out as lovely as yours.

You did a fabulous job!! Wonderful quilt. I love that design. I made one a long time ago but it's gone. I think I gave it to one of my sons.

I have never made a Storm at Sea pattern. You did a wonderful job and I like the two colors you used.

Lovely quilt! I would love to do a storm at sea - I have fpp templates but haven't picked my fabrics yet.

I agree! I find quite a bit of it at thrift stores.
Always excited when I find yardage.

Thanks for the kind words. It does not have a home yet!

Lovely quilt! Very pretty quilting, too. I was married in the 80's and those were my wedding colors. Those older VIP fabrics are still very usable. I've been picking them up at yard sale/estate sale/ thrift store when I find them. I'll find and purchase other vintage quilting cotton fabrics as well. Love finding those "treasures", lol
