This little pie pincushion is an "In The Hoop" project. I think it is pretty cute, so I plan to make more. I have strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry fabric to make an assortment of pies...too fun.

I found the embroidery design at:

That is really cute, but what does "In The Hoop" mean?

In the Hoop are special projects you make with an embroidery machine. For this project, I hooped stabilizer, topped it with the strawberry fabric, stitched the round outline of a pie, layed felt strips down in a woven pattern, stitched them down (took several steps to complete), and then placed felt beneath the hoop and stitched the final outline. Once I unhooped everything, I washed out the stabilizer, stuffed the pie, stitched the opening closed, and then glued it to styrofoam and the silicone cupcake liner.

There are many In the Hoop projects available, treat bags, small Christmas stockings, ornaments, credit card holders, cosmetic bags, etc.

I thought it was probably something like that, but I do hate to make assumptions. Darling
