Last year my best friend went to New York City with her sister. She was telling me how amazed she was by all the taxi cabs on the streets. When I spotted this taxi cab fabric at a quilt show earlier this year I knew I HAD to make her a quilt. I even found stop light buttons to put in the "intersection".

I like your avatar too...looks complex. Was it difficult? ranger The block in my avatar wasn't difficult at all. It was paper pieced which I'm learning is lots of fun and an easy way to make sharp, crisp points. This was the center block from a table runner pattern bought at a LQS. |
That is wonderful. And what a lot of thought you put into that quilt. Great job.

Great quilt. the traffic light buttons is a perfect addition. Bet you won't have to explain that to your friend.

How clever! The stoplight the crowning touch!

That is one cute quilt! Lucky friend!

Love that fabric. I bought it at The City Quilter in New York when I was taking a class there and have used it twice so far but never thought of making it "the quilt". Yours is wonderful. Their newest NY fabric is a subway map, colorful and fun. Anyone visiting the city should check it out. An excellent shop where you can find some great souveneirs (if you like fabric LOL)!

Great idea - wonderful fabric, perfect name for the quilt!
|
That's a beauty! Good for you!
|
The fabric is way too cute. The taxis, and the check! Great quilt!
