string quilt donation to Christ Child Society

Using up scraps, first string quilt I made. Practiced free motion feathers using my ds before I had my long arm. Donated to the Christ Child Society and the layette program. Used in their auction fundraiser.

Very nice. I like all the bright colors. I am looking forward to making a string quilt myself.

Another great quilt ... you have a warm heart!

Very, very pretty. Question: What did you use for your backing? I've tried paper, but it is a pain to remove. Someone suggested muslin, but wouldn't that really shrink when the quilt was washed, thus causing distortion. If washing the muslin before, it's very unruly. Suggestions?

I hope it made a lot of money in the fundraiser.

I have used dryer sheets but on this one I used telephone book paper and that is what I prefer. Use a short stitch length and use a large needle. I tear the paper off while watching tv.
