OBW's are my favorite, but running a very close second are string quilts. My scraps multiply by leaps and bounds so I make a couple of string quilts a year. I love that they can never be exactly alike. Yours is beautiful!

Wonderful strings! Your contrast of lights & darks is super! :)

I love string quilts, they are the best quilts for using up scraps. And they always turn out great.
Great quilt :)

Beautiful quilt, when it comes to scraps I agree with you the quilt elves come at night and bring with them any odd scraps they have found so that no matter how many scrap quilts we have made we still have scraps to use. Kind of like the story of the woman in the bible with the jug of oil.

I actually measured the white middle fabric. I had more than scraps of that fabric, so I just cut strips 1.25" wide, then cut them up as long as I needed the middle starting fabric to be and used that beginning every time. The rest of the strips, I just put down my acrylic ruler, never measuring how wide, and just cute different widths...trying not to get them any more narrow than 1.50".....but didn't really take any pains with the cutting.

This is lovely! I wouldn't have thought of using the dark/light combination this way. It's simple, yet so striking. I think I'll remember this idea!
