Thanks so much everyone, the center strip is a dark purple. My favorite color. I have so many 30's scraps as well as other scraps of all kinds and colors. I would like to make a few quilts this new year and donate to St. Judes for next year.

That is going to be pretty, makes me think of my Grandmother.

I made one like this. I did mine all in reds and pinks. I started it early in January of this year. It was to be done and out for Valentine's Day. I quilted finally in November. It is now waiting for binding. It is really big. I cut a bunch of fabric before I started. I cut so much the quilt wound up being 110" x 98" Sheesh it is big and very heavy! I will post a picture when I finally finish it.

Thank you, I do mine a a thin foundation fabric, ( you don't have to use it) I put the piece of fabric in center and another on top, stitch a 1/4" seam and press, than do the other side and that you add a strip of fabric to each side till covered and trim, mine are 9 1/2" blocks.
