This is a strip rag blanket made for my DGGS, it's made with 3" strips. Very easy to make.

Great quilt! Thanks for sharing.

Very nice. That is a good idea - much better than sewing all those squares together.

you make it look so easy! Very nice. I never seem to get the cuts right. Either trim too close and it comes apart or not enough to get the nice ruffle you have. I love the rag quilts though and your strip one is such a clever idea. Is it flannel or cotton? I have only used flannel. Do the cotton ones fray different or should say more?

I used flannel, two strips, front and back, I did not use any batting but it is very soft and cuddly.

Thanks. I used flannel and no batting on the ones I made too. Wish I would have done strips like you have instead of the squares. Will next time.

cuppi duke 03-12-2011 01:41 PM

That is a cute idea. It looks more cuddly than using squares.

I hadn't seen one done with just strips. I like it!! Oh, no ....more ideas!! LOL!

emerald46 03-12-2011 03:57 PM

Love those rag quilts..very cuddly and pretty!

cakebaker 03-12-2011 04:27 PM

Nice idea, think I will try one. Very pretty.

Tartan 03-12-2011 05:59 PM

What a great idea! I will have to try this. I love the rag look quilts but didn't want to deal with those pesky intersections where the blocks meet. This is a very clever alternative.
