I think you need to try two instead of one of the zebra print so the block is more balanced before you start over completely. You could just cut one and lay it on top.
|
elizajo are you cloned from Bebe?? Everything you have said is almost word for word what she said to me on the phone.
|
I love the fabrics individually, but they are too busy together. The block might work if there were repeats and balance, with some solids. Keep trying.
|
Your fabrics are truly wonderful!! :D Please do try to put a couple more of them together to give you a better idea of how it might look. I agree that sashing can do wonders with so many other blocks!! Go for it, just have fun!! Thank you for sharing with all of us!!
:D :D :D :D |
I think your fabrics are beautiful and have potential but without the animal prints in the last picture. The top and middle fabrics are awesome.

Take two. Better but no cigar.

Better use a tan where u used the black and have the kite points be the same fabric. too many busy fabrics your eye does not have a resting place becaue it is too busy.
stay away from the black too much. you need to lighten the block and have contrast among the fabrics. |
look at a few examples from this book maybe this can help you make placement choices.
you are wanting to make a monocramatic quilt but this quilt needs different shades of colorhttp://www.softexpressions.com/softw...s/BlkWhite.php |
Would you try changing the two fabric kite shape to one fabric...the faceted fabric on the right...just lay a piece over to see...please?
|
I like Take 2, but would change the grey flower fabric (next to the kite shape) to the grey pebble fabric. I think it would calm the block, having the pebble fabric in the two different shapes.
