Sugar Skulls

I machine embroidered on my Janome, pieced the blocks, appliquéd the center figures. I did some thread painting on the leaves in the center. I added the Swarovski crystals individually, which photographs never seem to capture, it sparkles. I hand sewed the roses in the border, each one took about two hours, my arm was sore! It is currently on display in a employee art show. So fun to make.

Wow! That is great. My DD thinks quilting is for old ladies, I'm going to email her this picture. Lol. Of course, she saves herself by saying I'm not old, just wierd. Lol

Stunning.... I have a "thing" for skulls. Love the vibrant colours and the flowers just knock your socks off. Very cool indeed.
