these square panels (5 of them) were given to me the other day.... this is what I came up with so far... second pic is fabric for borders (use all or a few), 3rd pic is a close up of border in 1st pic. so, without making a mess of this, what borders do ya'll think I should add. I really don't want to take away from the 1st pic. it measures 42 x 42 right now. Would like to get it to at least 82 x82 or larger... everybody-put on your thinking caps, please????

I think you should make a border of more log cabin blocks to get the desired size and then do a border with the green fabric. :) just my opinion.
|
If it were me, I'd do a smaller inner border in the solid beige fabric, and then a larger outer border in the dark green fabric. Great looking blocks, BTW! :D

I love the dark green.

I agree with Charismah, I was thinking the same! What a pretty quilt that will be when it is done!!!! Can't wait to see it when it is done.

I am not much help with borders, but have to say what a beautiful quilt top :D :D :D
|
Not much help here, but the way you used the blocks is great.

If this is to be finished in time for Christmas (this year) would it rush you to make more log cabins? My suggestion is to place the fabrics on one side of the quilt in an alternating light dark, light dark sequence. The dark green would look great on the outside border, as Eddie said. Hope this helps.

I agree with Eddie a light beige solid type border and then the dark green print, you might make 4 small logs for the corners of the outer border. What a beautiful quilt you have made, I LOVE IT!!!

What sdparent said......anymore than that and it would be too busy in my opinion. Gorgeous!
