Summer projects

These lap quilts will go to our guild philanthropy project, which is Alzheimers Study Group. I've really gotten hooked on the clamshell pattern. I know that lots of people shy away from the curves, but it's no more difficult than setting sleeves into a garment. Free pattern here: http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/quilt...20847~6fmi69nd The theme fabric shows sites in the San Diego area.
The stack and whack hexagons were left over from another quilt, and I was inspired by someone's layout here on the board. The colors show up better on the close up picture. |
Very nice!
Love the clam shells and the quilting on the hexagons is fantastic.
I love the clam shell one, but both are beautiful :)
What a great and thoughtful thing to do. GOD will bless you for this.
i love your clamshells. i was intrigued the other day in watching a tut for them. i guess i never realized that they are EPP
Looks great!
Those are lovely and the clam shells are inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
The second picture makes the hexies look like a puppy. I don't know if that was intended but it looks adorable. Great quilt!
Very nice. What a kind thing for you to do.
great work!
great projects!!!
Both are great. I have never tried either one---stack n whack or curves! Maybe one of these days.....
You did a lovely job on both of them but I adore the Hex quilt.
Both of the quilts are very nice. The clam shell one is my favorite. Love the bright colors.
Love both and has stirred couple ideas, I had forgotten about. Gorgeous quilts!!
Great clamshell quilt. It's on my to do list. Hope when I've done it it looks as good as yours
The hexis are gorgeous; the seams look so precise. I'm struggling to get diamond intersections to work out right; yours are super. Love the color contrast. I've always like the clamshell but have never had the nerve (yet) to try it. Beautiful quilts.
And I'm struggling with getting one done. Wow! You've done well!
Beautiful work, and very generous of you to support Alzheimers, such a worthy cause.
Super. BrendaK

A floral clam shell or New York beauty is in my bucket list, I like your choice of fabric!
Very nice. I love those clamshells. I have a small baggie full of them and want to make a table runner or placemat, but will have to look up the instructions. Hope there is a tute on youtube. Both of your quilts are nice.
wow terriffic quilt
Lovely quilts you do such beautiful work.
I must say that I love what you did with those leftover hexagons. I have some from a quilt I made a number of years ago that was suppose to be for me but ended up going to my MIL. She has sinced passed on and now it is in the company of my SIL. You have given me the inspiration to make one for myself with those leftover hexies from that quilt .... which I loved. Thanks for posting that photo. Now I am excited about a future quilt.
You are doing good work, beautifully.
Great job for a great cause. You will be blessed as well as blessing someone else.
They are beautiful. Awesome job.
I tried the one block wonder but could not do it, it is beautiful .
Great job on both of them!
Both are lovely.
I really like the way these turned out.
Thank you for the pattern link. The clam shell quilt is on my "quilting bucket list". Love what you did with the stack and whack hexies, too.
What a great job you did on piecing all those curves. You've invented a whole new "I spy" quilt. And the San Diego fabric was a great choice. (I love SD and miss it terribly).
