I am presently doing this little baby quilt. All the blocks are done, the sandwich is done and so is the basting.
Now, my problem is how should I quilt these little dolls? For the triangles, I plan to quilt a quarter inch from the sewing stitches but for the diamonds with Sun Bonnet Sue, I really don't know what to do. Can anybody help me in this? Any suggestions? My grandchild baby girl is due in the end of January 2011 - coming soon... I would stipple around the girl, so she stands out even more.
Realy small stipple I think would be great. |
I agree.

If you do a fine stipple on the sewing machine, be sure to use finer thread than usual (maybe 50wt or 60wt 2-ply instead of usual 50wt 3-ply) so the fine stippling does not stiffen the block too much.
If you are hand quilting, I think just quilting around the figure (flowers and all) would look great too. |
Such a beautiful baby quilt, you did a really nice job on this one, I really like it!

I have a Sun Bonnet Sue quilt that my great-grandmother made, and I am 61 years old. She just stitched around the "Sues" and SID'd the blocks. Needless to say, I have a special love for this quilt pattern! Thanks for sharing, I love your embroidery and choice of colors. This is a very special quilt.
