Well I am semihappy with the result  . Looks a bit overload to me and the fabric of the binding was not shrinking as the rest of the fabric. The quilt was wet taking the pics, it is laying flat on the floor now.
As it will be a christmas present to DD I might redo the binding somewhen...... The sunbonnets are machine embroidery designs, the long lines I made with the walking foot and the FMQ went quilt well with my "quilttable" - got that idea somewhere here. Granny |
WOW, I have never seen such a beautiful Sunbonnet Sue quilt in my entire life. It is spectacular! I love the color combination and your quilting is excellent. Very well done.
Did you get the Sunbonnet designs at emblibrary.com? I really really like them and would love to make them, but honestly I think your color choices for the whole thing are what I love the most. |
Super cute!! Thanks for sharing.

Sunbonnet Sue is not one of my favorite patterns but I sure would enjoy having this one. It must surly be a labor of love.
|
Love this - beautiful colours. Where did the patterns for the machine embroidery come from? Congrats on a wonderful quilt.
|
Like your quilt table too, that looks REALLY interesting, can you tell us a bit about it and how it is made please?
|
That is so cute!!!
|
It is made out of insulations board from the hardware store. This foamed stuff needed for isolating your roof against cold. They come in different highs and you just have to add up till it covers the sewing arm of your machine. There is a special glue that comes with it and you can easely cut the gab for your sewing machine arm out with a knife.
Hope this helps Granny |
Thankyou granny 59! I have saved the photo of it to show my husband. Won't he get a surprise when he gets home from golf this morning..........well he did buy those new hand grips for those golf clubs........:)

This is absolutely the best! Great work!

You should be ecstatic with the result...Some sunbonnets can look a little flat, yours is very lively. Gorgeous little characters and your quilting really sets it off - I love it.
