Had to make a run to the store for batteries....because the size you need can never be found in the house when you need it.
no power for me and the guy across the street lantern to the rescue pretty ice on the trees....and notice how the people across the street have power...not even fair...although I am somehow connected to their internet wi-fi, so I guess it's not all that bad |
pretty pics I asume you have a quilt to snuggle under if it gets cold inside :)

Love the look of the ice on the trees.

Yes, I've pulled out a few extra quilts for the night...suppose to get down to 18 degrees. It's still currently 31 and raining.
The quilts will keep me warm...I just hope the pipes don't freeze...maybe I should wrap them in quilts too ... LOL |

Keep warm. We received a lot of ice and now (blowing) snow. You must have more though, we still have power. I'd stay home if I were you, looks too slippery to be out and about. Internet is slow (froze). Looks like the porch light next door (in your photo)is on too.

Yup, everyone to the right of me has power...everyone to the left is without power.
Thankfully, I have Monday off work for the holiday...so at least I don't need to worry about the commute or getting ready for work in the dark. ..and my family lives close by - they have all invited me to come over, but I'm good, so I'm gonna stay home and ride it out. |
stay safe and stay warm

Hope your power comes on quickly - but if not, then open up all of your cabinets where your plumbing is located to let any warmer air get to them. Close off rooms that you won't be using and closets too.
HTH - we were without power for 10 days in 07 - but had a fireplace and a gas stove. |
thanks for the tips...
we have tree limbs snapping all over the neighborhood...I can hear them...sounds like gunfire...very eerie outside right now. |
Brrrrr! The picture of the ice-tree is good. We had 2 weeks of snow and below freezing, then jumped to 76! Lots of folks sick, me included.

Our ice storm in Jan 2009 ... we were without power for 17 days...my Dad didn't have power for 23 days.
We "forced" him to come to our house (He was 80), also had our 7 1/2 mo PG DIL, 3 yr DGD, DS is in Nat'l Guard so he had to leave and DH is a truck driver so he had to leave too. Lucky for us...we had gas heat & water so we got a generator but had to drive for an hour to find gas. Our Dishnetwork & Verizon worked so we were soooo much better than others. I feel for ya. Hope it comes on soon. so glad we had a "farm trk" to break thru broken trees at dads house |
WOW! We're going to have grove clean up this spring but not because of the snow/ice. Looks like you'll have more than us. Hope your power is back on. Warm thoughts.

I hate, hate Icestorms. We had on last January which did so much damage to the trees,it will take years to repair the damage,

and the fun continues...it's going to be at least Friday night now...thank you McDonalds for a warm meal and free wi-fi!
