I named it that because my sister got me started on this. She sent me a picture of a block that she tried and soon we had our own little block of the month thing going on. When I get this finished, it will have two labels. I intend to put an extra one with the names of the blocks.
Anne Suzie's Suggestion 3 x 4 blocks. We actually had 9 blocks done in about 5 weeks. lol. |

It must be extra fun to do it with a sister, you are lucky you are so close, it is a great sampler. Are you making more?
|
Great sampler! How fun that you and sister did this together.
|
Yes, it's great that she quilts also. It was when I was in Massachusetts and we would e-mail each other about which block we would do next. She picked red, white, and blue. I went with greens and tans. Now we live next door to each other and can actually run across the driveway and say "Look what I did".
The blocks are twelve inches and I got most of them from either quilter's cache or a book my sister gave me called "Once More Around the Block". I had a grand time picking my colors and deciding on blocks. I am not very good about waiting a month to do the next block, however, and we ended up finishing our tops in about 2 months. LOL. Then it was on to the next thing. I am thinking about doing another one someday. It is really good for deciding if you feel like doing a whole quilt of a particular block. Anne |
Sounds like fun to have a sister nearby that you can quilt with. I think it looks great. Good job.
|
I like it! Very nice work.

Who would have thought all those colors would look so nice together, aren't samplers fun? I like to pick out the patterns I like to do.
|
How lucky are you to have a sister that quilts, and NEXT DOOR! That would be in my dreams..... I love this collection. Great job.

That's really pretty! I love sampler quilts and adore scrappy ones. You've done both. It's really gorgeous! I'm drooling. So nice to have your sis right next door too. You guys will have so much fun creating together!

hey Boston - love them! What is the one that is 3rd from the left in the middle row? I do not recall having seen it and really like it.

Thanks for all the nice comments.
Yes, JBS, People think we are cute bringing fabric across the yard, from time to time. Rein, The one you describe (looks like interlocking links) is called Plaited Block. My sister found it on the site quilters cache. I just write "quilt blocks galore" and it takes me there. Go in the alphabet section. She has LOADS of blocks. Anne |
It's lovely, Anne! Great color combos. :D
|
good sampler
|
I love samplers because you don't get bored of doing the same thing over and over. Very nice job.
|
