I just finished this jacket for my mil. After seeing the pics I wish I would have used black on the bottom of the sleeves instead of the ribbing that I had cut off the bottom of the sweatshirt. Oh well, too late now and besides I only had the 1 strip that color.

Good Job....looks so nice:)

Great job! Won't matter once she's wearing it the light coloured cuffs are pretty too.
If they really bother you, cut some similar size squares of the blue fabrics & raw edge stitch them over the cuffs. |
Oh, my. I really like this.

Pretty jacket. Have a question. Do you get sweatshirt a size larger if you are going to make a jacket like this. I want to make one, but wondered about sizing. Thought stitching would "shrink" the shirt.

Yes, I buy a size larger. When you cut the sweatshirt apart, you lose the seams so that makes it smaller. Plus you would wear it over a shirt so you want it to be a little bigger. One tip I would give you is to sew your fabric onto the fleece (inside) of the sweatshirt. This leaves you with the smoother side for the inside of the jacket. It will be easier to slide on over your shirt and also won't leave fuzz on your clothing. Good luck with your jacket!
