The four white pieces were center top and bottom, left and right. The colored pieces were the dead center and the four corners. This method is pretty much just like the Kalideoscopic Kites pattern that JoAnne mentioned. See if you can google that free pattern. I started by sorting the charm pack by color families, and putting together groups of 5 of each color. It required adding in a couple of squares from my stash, to round things out.

JoAnne, we have a doggy named Sophie, but I'd love the name for a granddaughter, too. We could tell her she was named after the dog, LOL...

Here, I found the KK pattern. Isn't it PRETTY?!:

Her construction is different. She has you build the smaller squares that we would get as the result of cutting our 9 patches into quarters. If you are familiar with DNP, you can look at her pattern and realize how you can shortcut it...

I'm putting together another top now, the same way, using the new "Simply Color" line by V and Co. for Moda. It's a little more colorful and should make another fun quilt. Will show later, when I get it done!

I recently made a DP9 using Saddle Up prints (half of a layer cake and a yard each of 2 coordinates, which part of one was also used for a narrow border). Love that technique. Thanks for sharing.
