I decided to join in on Rachel Griffith's Synchronized Squares Quilt Along that I found through Flickr. The instructions are on her blog :

The quilt was SUPPOSED to be completed in 3 weeks, but I knew that would never happen for me, but I may complete the top this weekend. It very easy, and a small lap quilt. The edges of the four squares are raw, and I'm not sure yet how I feel about that. (I know my high school sewing teacher would NOT be happy about that!)
Most people chose wonderful layer cakes for their quilts, but I decided to use some of my hoarded fabrics... RJR Art Nouveau and Art Nouveau Revisited and I'm glad I did. I love the fabrics. Here is my progress so far. You end up with 36 squares to sew together (most of you can do that in your sleep!!) for a 52" finished quilt. I have NO CLUE how I will quilt it when its done! I have never done machine quilting before, although I recently took a class. This will be my first, but I will admit, that part of me wants to pack it up and send it off to one of you to quilt!! This is the first quilt that I have made in many, many years. I am enjoying working on it!

Very pretty quilt and a nice job too.

It's fun to see the differences in fabric choices and how they work up! I hadn't realized that there is so much going on in Flickr... lots of swaps and sew alongs!

this is interesting...I would love to see how they look once washed a few times...I have used fray check and it works well..

Yes, I am interested to see how it washes up, too. I think someone said that there will be threads to trim after washing. We'll see.

What do you do with the raw edges on these please???/

I found the instructions...just incase someone is wondering...they cut the squares to 7 1/2 inches...from a 10 inch block and then use the left overs for the binding. Then you sew the 7 1/2 inch to your white block all the way around...then cut down the middle each way. http://www.psiquilt.com/2011/06/sync...-along_23.html oh and the white squares are 10 inch squares.

hmmm...I have the 12 i/2 in square accuquilt die and a 8 1/2 inch square die...thinking that would also work and look great.
