I thought this was so cute. I am done making this T-shirt quilt for someone. My little dog Teddy lives in that part of the studio where I mostly do my quilting (his turf).

I was cutting out the squares and just throwing the rest on the floor. Teddy was watching me, he always does. As soon as a scrap would fall he would grap it and push it under his stomach hahahah, talk about funny.

When I had finished, he jumped up and down on the pile and threw them up in air and them plunked himself on top and nestled in.

Hubby wanted to clean up later but I told him to let him have them for a couple days lol...

Here are two of the blocks...

I have a yellow lab puppy (85lbs worth of puppy) Who goes into the room that the laundry is sorted in & using her paws pulls a pile of laundry up and makes it into a pillow.

cute dog and he has laid claim to that pile of scraps! talking about pets and laundry-one of my cats will hunt dirty socks and dishrags and bring them to me in the night. he makes this funny little meow when he brings them to me.it's usually dark when he does, but i can tell by the meow that he has brought me a present!

My little dog brings me goodies too!

Naturalmama 09-13-2010 05:29 AM

That's too sweet! We had to make sure our bedroom door was shut when we left the house or our dog would get up on our bed and do that with the bedspread and blankets!

Lynneander 09-13-2010 05:46 AM

Like your "assistant" ... what would we do without them?

SandyMac 09-13-2010 08:02 AM

I had a sad day today but this day was inevitable. My little Tinkertoy went to doggie heaven today and hubby and I buried her in the back yard. We have had her for 17 and a half years and it was so hard to let her go. She was the mommy of Teddy.

Hubby was crying, calling her his little girl, it was soo sad. We both feel ok now and we do have Teddy's daddy still and Teddy's half sister Molly...all my children are getting old, it's too bad they have such a short life as they are the most perfect companion.....

I am so sorry for your loss. It's very hard when they pass on-I've been there several times. We get so attached to them and they bring such joy. (((((((hugs)))))) to you and your DH.

I'M so sorry. My prayers are with you! Our pets are our other children. They have very special places in our hearts & are dearly missed.
May God Bless You & Keep You!

Oh, I think that is so wonderful. When Tinker lost her hearing and sight, she started to deterioate then....

Justquilting 09-15-2010 03:16 PM

I'm so sorry for your loss. They are the best. They love you unconditionally! Mine are like velcro,...follow me everywhere. Can't leave a room without them. Their 11 1/2 now.
Your lil Teddy is so sweet!

mollymct 09-15-2010 03:24 PM

Aweee. Teddy is precious. Let him have his pile of scraps for awhile!

Oh! I'm just reading above this box that you lost Tinkertoy. I am so sorry. It sounds like she had a good long life for a little dog! But so sad for you.

Rosyhf 09-20-2010 03:23 AM

Thank you ladies. I still look for her in the morning lol. ..but it's all ok now.

I finally took Teddy's scraps away, he was making a mess. I replaced them with a basket with a pillow, not that he needs it lol. He has a huge couch pillow with a quilt under my fabric table lol.

I read your post and wondered if your furbaby was a Lahaps , I never have learned how to spell that name. We have Lucie and she will do that jumping thing sometimes on a blanket, they are so funny and so much joy,......She jumped an old pillow all the way across the floor one day to get it to where she wanted it...your baby is so sweet.

That is cute, velcro...that is what it is like with my Lucie also...love it...maybe I should have had dogs instead of kids....LOL

Not to sound anti-child, but animals make the best kids...except for when they mess on the rug! They always love you, they don't give you any lip, no parent/vet conferences, they don't run with the wrong crowd, and they're always glad to see you come home! Oh, and you don't get looked at sideways when you mention they sleep in your bed with you either!

I'm a firm believer that children need their own bed to sleep in and should sleep there, by the way, and have always practiced that.
