That came out really nice. She's going to enjoy it. Nice stitching on the binding. Is that a decorative stitch on your machine? I really like the way it looks.

PuffinGin 02-11-2010 11:47 AM

Great quilt and such a great back. I'm going to remember that and try to use similar idea on my next gift quilt.

That's it, blanket stitching. For the life of me I couldn't put a name to it! Guess shovelling snow addled my brain!

sewNso 02-11-2010 11:58 AM

you are very talented.

cande 02-11-2010 12:16 PM

I have all those decorative stitches on my machine so decided to use some of them. I'm really pleased with the back; there's some Dick and Jane, the kitties, a prayer panel, bird eggs, wizard of Oz, and a farm scene. I was tickled to get them but couldn't figure out how to make use of them then one night, while lying in bed waiting to go to sleep, the idea hit me.

Bailey's mom 02-11-2010 12:18 PM

Love it! I hope that my I Spy turns out that cute!!!

I like your I spy better than any others I have seen. I have been thinking about making one for my grandson who will be two in April

I like that you used all the spaces for something to find and did not "fill" in with four patches or plain squares.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Eddie 02-13-2010 03:06 PM

Beautiful! Bright and cheery!

springtime 02-13-2010 04:10 PM

Great job, Cande!
I might "borrow" your idea of sashing the 4sqs instead of the rtow by row I was planning for the I-Spys I am planning. Thanks for sharing.

Pam J 02-13-2010 06:56 PM

What a wonderful, happy quilt. The back is adorable, too! You are very creative. I printed out a picture to show my Project Linus group--kids love I Spy quilts (us big kids, too!)
Thanks for sharing
