I was kind of like you when I started, wasn't much of a sewer and yrs later I am not. You can display your first top, I can not lol... So be proud its a beautiful quilt, your colors are great, you did a wonderful job keep up the good work.

I'm impressed! For a real newbie you did a great job. Your choice of fabric and your design are spot on. As for mistakes, there better be more than a few on your first try!! Your first quilt? You did a super-duper job. My first quilt was loved well by the dogs for that's the only bed it would lay on reasonably flat. Many miles since then. I wonder how well I might do now if I had started out as accomplished as you. Great job!
