Did you ever have a project go wrong and need to do damage control? I found a free pattern online for making a runner with a border print. http://www.stitchintree.com/images/F...rderRunner.pdf
I cut the strips and was not able to get my fabric to work when cutting the 60 degree wedges for the ends. My fabric was a not a symmetrical repeat. I went into salvage mode and fussy cut wedges by centering one of the instruments on each wedge. This will finish up at about 20" across. http://youtu.be/Ql-rnzIkD9c |
Great adjustment. I like it better that the original pattern.

Love it! I'm kind of partial to brass instruments though. Beautiful "salvage" job.

Nice save! We would have never know unless you told us  Thanks for the link to the pattern!

Looks like you planned it!

I think it looks great as a mat

Very Nice Table Topper! It was meant to be.

Beautiful! I had similar problems with one of my border prints when trying the Triangle Frenzy pattern, so I understand your issue. You solved it wonderfully!

That is very pretty.
