Table runners

4 Attachment(s)
Here are 3 table runners that I made for my DD. The Holloween and the snowflake one are 10 min table runners that I made longer. they are about 13x52. The one with the pointetas is from the pattern "Christmas stars runner" from Quilt world magazine , Nov 2002. The star runner pattern is a free pattern on line. It measures about 21x60. I added an extra star block to make it longer. FMQ is by me and the flowers are not great but I don't care. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful. How did you make the 10 minute runners bigger? Did you piece the fabric? Your quilting is impressive.

Thanks for your kind words! To make the runner bigger/longer I bought 1/2 yd of the center fabric and 1 yd of the border/backing. I cut each piece WOF so there were 2 peices that measures center- 9 x40 and border 18x40. I then cut 2 5-6" pieces from one piece of the center fabric and sewed them to each end of the remaining 9x40" piece. That made the center piece 9x52 . I did not sew the seam down the center of the fabric but rather on the ends so when finished these seams are under the folded point and do not show. The border/backing I sewed end to end. I then centered the backing with the seam in center of piece, cut to size and finished as usual for runner. Also I top stitched the runner . The Halloween one has interfacing in it and the Winter one has batting in it so I had to do some quilting in the center. I personally like the interfacing better.
