Does anyone else like making tag blankets as much as I do? I love making them as quick gifts for new babies. Here's a few of my most recent ones. I'd love to see any that the rest of you have made.
I think these are the cutest blankies ever...just perfect for little ones tiny hands..
It's very cute, but what does "tag blankie" actually mean, I see all those little loops around the edge?

I've never seen or heard of a tag blankie. Cute, way too cute.
Very nice job! Those are expensive in the baby stores

A friend of mine at work just asked if I would make one. Any suggestions?
It gives the babys different textures to feel. They like playing with the loops and the feel of the ribbons.
my grandson had a purchased one - he loved tags on anything - so it was very appropriate.

Very cute!
What size do you make yours?
VERY CUTE NEVER SEEN R HEARD OF ONE BEFORE
Very cute
I have include different-feeling fabrics in baby quilts like terry cloth and satin for tactile purposes for the baby to feel. I love your little tag quilts, I can just see a baby enjoying them!
Abolutely adorable. I love the first one. It turned out nicely.
Very cute! And babies love them!
these are great presents for babies :)
I also make tag toys - stuffed shaped bears, balls and others with tags. The little ones love to hold and carry their blankets and stuffed toys by the tags. They are easy to make and make great gifts.
Very cute! I've never seen one before.

Here's a tutorial: http://leafytreetopspot.blogspot.com...-tutorial.html
I usually just put both fabrics right sides together, sew the ribbon in between the layers (so the fold faces inside). Turn inside out and top-stitch! Ribbons are usually 3-4" long. Mine are 13-18" square usually. Hope you make some yourself! |
My grandkids call them tag rags and my grandson calls his taggie. They are 9 and 6 and still sleep with them.
I've made them for all 4 of my grandsons..they love the silky/satiny ribbons..my oldest grandson wanted a larger one so I made him a throw size with 1 inch satin ribbons all around it...its a comforting feeling for them to rub while they rest and they all call them taggies
I make them too! Fun, Quick and I don't have a pic to post, I gave them all away already. Time to make more!
Never heard of or seen something like that. I love the idea and I know I would have loved something like that as a small child. I used to finger the part between the buttons on pillows to threads because I kept moving my finger up and down inbetween.
So soft & cuddly looking !
So cute!!
Never heard of it or seen it before, but I love it. I can imagine those little hands grabbing those ribbons. I like your idea of the different textures, too. Such creative people here...
Isn't that weird? This brought back an early memory. I know I used to suck my thumb and my dad threatened me to stop (somehow I knew he would be serious) and I remember I quit sucking my thumb but I found a blanket loop and from then on, I hooked my pointer finger in there and that was my comfort. Knowing the place we lived at the time, I had to have been six.
I think they they are all so cute great job on them
What a great idea -- I think I have now found a use for my small kid scraps.
A girl I work with just asked me to make one. Thanks for the link! I just sent a message to Freecycle about the ribbon. I have a ton of fabric. . but not ribbon!
