This is my June Taylor matt that got rather nasty looking. The first time I put an old cutting matt on the back & thought that was awesome! Then the ironing side started getting really bad looking from various things I'd gotten on there besides my iron is really really hot & was scorching the top slightly so I decided to 'refurbish it" It's great to take to classes & to retreat when I go....

What a great fix. I have one that is starting to looks kinda bad. I'm going to try that too.

Great idea.I have 2 cutting mats but they are still in good condition.But i will think of refurbishing them when they do get old and ratty looking. thanks for the idea.
