My dear aunt likes her tea, for her BD I made her these 2 mats and will include some special white tea as well.
I modified this pattern from the Fraser Valley Quilt Guild's web site. Instead of piecing the handle I stitched one. I also made the mat rectangular (8 x6) rather than the 6 " finished block.

What a thoughtful BD gift! I'm sure your aunt will love them. Thanks for including the link for the pattern. I love tea cups and have quite a few. I also have friends who enjoy them. These mats will make adorable gifts!

Thanks, I thought the pieced handle was too chunky for the curves in the dark blue cup fabric I had chosen.

Yesterday got a sweet note in thanks. She loved them. A neighbor also a tea drinker was dropping by today--so they will get initiated.
