Reminds me of my husbands family who have quilted for years. They are the best teachers! I am getting with my husbands cousin who's my age to finish some tacking. Group work is the best thereapy!

She did a great job. It certainly doesn't look like a first quilt. Do have a reference for the quilt? Our ASG was given a lot of fabric (80-100 yards) and we're looking for 'beginner' patterns for quilts we're making for Safe Space. Thanks.

I make my kid's charity quilts about 35 by 43 inches. The center is cut 20 1/2 by 28 1/2 and the inner borders are cut 2 inches. The outer border and corner posts are cut 6 1/2 inches. With these measurements, you can get a backing from a yard of fabric, and you can get the inner border from only 3 WOF cuts. It works well if you have 45" batting too. Good luck with your quilts. Thank you Barbara for the info. We're meeting today and will share your pattern. We have started by sorting the fabric and sewed some of the panel quilts. One of the quilters made a pattern with squares, similar to streak of lightening, but that's about 40 squares to match points.

Your welcome Emmy. You might also think about doing a simple 9 patch for the center if you want something a little more visually appealing. Also, don't forget that if you are doing only a small amount of quilting, you should probably use Warm and Natural as it only needs to be quilted every 10 inches. Happy quilting!
