Tessallation Art Quilt WIP
 

First attempt to create a tessellation to represent profile of elephants.. My sister collects elephants and this is intended for her. It is hand pieced and hand quilted thus far.

Discouraged because my husband sees cats, my friend sees profie of dogs. Think I'm just gong to finish I as an abstact art quilt.

I can see the elephants, she will love it

Well, I have to say that I originally saw cats too until you said they were supposed to be elephants. Now I DO see elephants, but I have a suggestion that may help. You can add an eye (with permanent marker) to some of the lighter colored elephants. It's the perspective that could throw it off, but putting the eye where it belongs definitely turns the observer's perspective to see the elephants. ...just a thought....

Amazing Tessallation! I also can see the elephants and agree with IQ2 about adding an eye to them (tiny buttons may work too). I also can see cats and dogs so you could call it a Tessallation animal art quilt :) It is very nice and I am sure your sister will love it.

Oh! This quilt is fabulous! I can see all three, the elephant, the cat and the dog! Please don't feel discouraged, it's just a matter of how one sees things on any given day, wouldn't you say? I'd be walking on cloud 9 if someone loved me enough to make one like this for me:thumbup:

I see elephants but I also siee a great Danes head. Interesting quilt and like to see others try something unique.

It's the power of suggestion, and once mentioned I can see all three. Don't discourage. With your friend loving elephants, bet that's what she sees immediately

Thank you. I was introduced to quilt tessellation designs by one of my favorite quilt and fabric designer, Jinny Beyer. She presented basics on this process years ago while interviewed in one of those TV quilting programs. Cant even recall when I started this project. Its high time I finish it.
