I am doing a test here also. Laying out blocks to see how to sew them together. Lots of great pics you all are posting. Hopefully this will work!

Edited to add: None of the blocks have been pressed yet, so they aren't as wonky as they look in this pic.

This is a pretty quilt And done in pretty colors. What is the name of this block? It looks like it would make a nice throw.

I saw a picture similar on the internet and did some calculations to figure out what it would take for a full size quilt. One of my grandsons was really into robots.

Quilt Top For my wife

1 Attachment(s)
This is a WIP top for a quilt for my wife. I started out just sewing 2 inch squares together to just be doing something. When I had a block about 14 inches square she said she really liked it and asked that I make her a quilt like that. I'm still new so I had no idea what was ahead but here is the results of the top at least. May be obvious that there was no real plan; just kept sewing and trying different approaches. She is 'very' cold natured and wanted a warm quilt. So, I'm going to use warm and natural batting and fleece backing. That should be interesting to quilt :o.

I'm still having fun! I'll post more later when I finish.

Grandpa...you did a great job on your quilt top...I love it. Looking forward to seeing the finished quilt.

Let's see if I can post a pic. If it goes through, it is a pic of a quilt I made a while back. I have named it "Hugs for Elyse". My DDILs neighbor is in the hospital very seriously ill. She was born with some defect (don't remember what) but when she was 8 she had a liver transplant. She is now about 20, and her heart is failing because of all the anti-rejection drugs, is due to have heart surgery this weekend, I believe. Anyway here is the quilt. So tried twice, both times saying "Upload failed", but don't know why.

grann of 6 11-04-2011 04:14 AM

Trying again with a different pic. Upload failed again. Anybody got any ideas. The files are Jpeg.

I'm gaining on it! I found the thread to try posting pictures! This was a scrappy I made for my mom if it works.
Says it failed, will try again. I am determined.... figured it out I think, my file size was to big, resized it and I think I've got it now! (Crossing fingers and toes)

Tulip 11-04-2011 05:48 AM

So how did you reduce the file size? Does that have to be done in place I have the pics stored? I will play around again and see what I can do! Thanks.

lawsonmugs 11-04-2011 06:00 AM

Yes i would like to know how to reduce the size of a piture too. Like grann said how and where is that done? Thanks for any help. Mary

Okay, girls, am trying again. Here is what I did....I went into my picture program on computer, in there are some options for resizing. Since they are all different, I will not detail mine. Just play around. Let's see if I made mine small enough.....

grann of 6 11-04-2011 06:07 AM

Woo Hoo Too!!!! Thanks, that did it! So now I know!!! So much more work than before!!!
