Texas Proud!!

I finished putting the borders on this quilt for DH yesterday. He did all the rest, planning, choosing fabric and sewing. But, when I told him the border corners needed to be mitered, he handed it to me:D He did say after doing all those pinwheels, he's through with HST for now. Now, I need suggestions on how to quilt it on our LA.

Wow, great job!

Great top! Do you have a pattern with stars? I might use that in the border after custom quilting the center.

SheriR 04-16-2016 07:02 AM

It's an awesome Texas quilt! :D

Beautiful job. Love the patriotic look.

lynnie 04-16-2016 07:07 AM

I love it so far and I really like the Texas blue bonnets

Mariposa 04-16-2016 07:21 AM

Great Texas theme top! Can you find a quilting pattern that has stars in it?

JuneBillie 04-16-2016 08:24 AM

Beautiful !!! I married a Texan, and so I can really appreciate that quilt.

joyce888 04-16-2016 08:30 AM

Wow he did a fantastic job!

Homemother 04-16-2016 08:45 AM

Beautiful! Your DH is funny...handing it off to you! Mitered corners will be another day!

great top! Stars sounds right for the border. A 5 pointed star works well for a fmq border, if you can tolerate irregularities.

Prekteacher 04-16-2016 01:51 PM

Nice, love the colors! HST's can be time consuming.

Wow, wow, wow! I don't do l.a. quilting, but I thought of Charisma that used to post on this board quite often. She always could "read" a quilt and choose appropriate designs. Be sure to show us the finished product.

Love it ! Beautiful and great job.

quilterpurpledog 04-17-2016 02:21 AM

I really like the design of your quilt and I agree that the mitered corners are just a perfect finish. As for quilting, what about stars or the outline of a Texas state flower (whatever that is) or that type of thing?

Sewbeeit2 04-17-2016 02:30 AM

free motion stars and loops in red.Have fun! Great quilt...

twinkie 04-17-2016 03:09 AM

Great Lone Star State memorabilia !! Love it!

carolynjo 04-18-2016 08:16 AM

Since the quilt has a strong diagonal look, what about cross-hatching on the diagonal?

cowgirlquilter 04-18-2016 10:31 AM

Oh my goodness this is gorgeous!!!!!!!

MargeD 04-18-2016 10:49 AM

Very nice, especially with hubby making it, even if he is afraid of mitered borders. LOL.

Jingle 04-18-2016 01:32 PM

Gorgeous, show it when quilted.

annievee 04-18-2016 01:48 PM
