Very nice! And it looks like it has the "kitty stamp of approval" too.

Grandma Cindy: You mentioned "what few pictures I have of my quilts." Oh! please, take pictures of everything you make because after awhile you forget about them. Our quilt teacher told us the very first class I took to never let anything you make get out of your sewing room without taking a picture of it ...kinda like your "kids" going off to college is how she put it. I love going back to look at things I made 6, 7 or 8 years ago.

You have puppies...we lost our granddog about 2 years ago and still miss her. She was 16 1/2 years old when she passed. A mini-Schnauzer. We have 2 kitties that we rescued that are now 4 and 8 and we foster kitties (and dogs on occasion) for our local animal rescue. Lightening and his 3 nest mates are fosters. They are ready for forever homes but we haven't found homes for them yet. It's always so hard to let them go after we've cared for them for a second or two. With Lightening and his sibling group we've had to do alot of medical stuff as they were nearly starved to death when we got them, just nothing left of them. We force fed them so they'd eat and now they are wonderful and healthy. One of the siblings died a week after we got them as he just wasn't strong enough to fight his adversities. We still mourn him as we really tried to give him life. Kitties are "good things." We love each and everyone of the 67 or so that we've fostered in the past 5 years.

When you foster the kittens, do you have to find them homes or does someone else do that? I still work and have a teen at home . I dont know 67 people to give kittens to... do you live in Texas? I am going next week to spend time with son and family.. San Antonio. My two mini dogs are a poodle and a dashund..by for now, Cindy

Hi Cindy:
Homes for our foster kitties are varied. We put the kitties on PetFinder on the net, plus they are listed and pictured on our animal rescue's website www.catlink.org plus word of mouth; presence with staff & the kitties in Petco stores in the metro area. We are very particular about the homes we find for our kitties and we make home visits and check back with the adoptive families after the adoption to make sure everything is going well. Our kitties have gone as far as Boston, Mass and Cape Town, South Africa and right next door!

Our rescue program promotes SPAY/NEUTER for all animals and last year they altered almost 1,000 kitties from feral colonies where the "civilized humans" in our population has opted to dump animals along freeways, in parks and in parking lots instead of caring for them. Life on the street for a poor animal without human help is brutal and cruel. Our Lightening and his siblings came from a hoarder0 colony where none of the animals had enough to eat so would scavenge in the camp areas of the homeless folks...the adult cats were having their legs cut off by some of the homeless drunks just for the fun of it. There were 40 animals rescued from that site. One man is in jail over this horrible situation.

Your quilt is beautiful. It's nice that you foster animals. It's hard to hear on the news that some people are having to give up their pets because they can't afford to take care of them. This ecomomy has had a negative effect on animals too.

Thank you all for the wonderful comments about my little scrappy quilt. I've heard that in nature all colors co-mingle, match and compliment each other.......I think that often happens when making scrap quilts.
