Chele 01-17-2008 10:57 AM

Karenmay, I'm so proud to be an inspiration! Thank you.

What a lovely job you did with the pattern and your scraps! I think it's fun to "see" the other projects you've worked on in your scrap quilts. The lilac really adds a special touch!

Make more!

Really nice quilt. I like the use of scraps. How much of the base fabric did you need?

3incollege 01-17-2008 01:25 PM

Very nice quilt!! Will the quilt go on your bed or is it for a gift? I've been saving my scrapes for along time mostly christmas prints which I think that pattern would do very well. Thanks for sharing.

Karenmay, you bring back memories, my grandmother made a quilt with the same colors, i can't remember the pattern but I remember snuggling under those colors. thanks

Bevanger 06-17-2008 04:36 AM

That is soooooooo pretty. Great job!

Marcia 06-17-2008 04:46 AM

You did a great job-your quilt is beautiful! Are you collecting scraps for another quilt?

Stitching4Fun 06-17-2008 05:32 AM

Very nice quilt!!

I have one that I am working on with the same patterns. I am laying it out differently then the one you show. I will have the blocks that you have, but alternated with zigzag rows. I got my pattern from Quiltmaker magazine S/O '99. It was called Happy to be Scrappy. Same blocks, just different layout.

I will post a picture once I get it together. I have the squaring off of the blocks to do before stitching them together. It takes time and energy to square off the 144 that I need and lately (I guess with the weather turning nice) I have spent most of my time outdoors. By the time I get inside.........I am too tired to do anything!!!

Karenmay 06-17-2008 06:29 AM

Yes Marcia...I'm always on the lookout for bits and pieces for quilting.....I'm getting quite well known in our charity shops, they know now what I'm after all these mens shirts for!!lol! (I think they thought I kept husbands in different sizes !)
Izy the shoulder is'nt too bad at the moment but my back is still quite painful right at the very bottom!! I go on my hols this Saturday so i'm looking forward to a mooch round a quilt shop or two (and more charity shops)
Oh by the way Izy, I've been asked to join a group of ladies who get together on a Monday afternoon to sew or knit or whatever they want to do ....so I think I might give it a try after my hols!

Karen
