Here is the picture of my first 2 blocks. It has been a crazy summer, I haven't had much time to quilt. Now that school will be starting next week, I hope to find more time. I am doing a english paper piecing Grandma's Flower Garden.

Yours are so pretty. Great job. Don't you love the fact they are so portable. I take mine everywhere.

Very nice Louise.. I have a mini flower garden started, and I'm thinking I'll have to do a larger one when I finish this.

jojo 09-07-2009 04:14 PM

wow, this is beautiful work. You girls (and guys?) are tempting me to attempt (pun) a gfg.

RedGarnet222 09-07-2009 04:41 PM

Wow louise... That is one heck of a lot of work there. Nice! I have one I started years ago and I hated the process. So there it sits in a closet.

I know yours is going to get finished though. Those are just too cute not to.

I do love that you can take them anywhere and I love the fact that the shapes always line up. When I first started it was hard to line everything up and than I found paper piecing and it's soo much easier.

They are beautiful, but they look so complitcated and hard to do. You did an excellent job. So neat.

Nice work! This design is a big undertaking. Are you going to do the Baby Jane group project in January?

redquilter 09-08-2009 03:12 PM

They look great. That's an ambitious undertaking, but it looks like you've got it under control.

allisonirons 09-08-2009 04:14 PM

very nice! I'm not courageous enough to try paper piecing :P

earthwalker 09-08-2009 08:14 PM

Nice work..."hang in there, it takes time but will be worth the effort" (that's my "Grandmother's Garden" mantra!). English paper piecing was what got me started on my "quilting" adventure, so I have a fondness for it. I am still plugging away at my "queen size" tribute to Nan....maybe this year!
