I made these before Thanksgiving all but quilting, we used them for Thanksgiving not quilted and thought I would get them quilted by Christmas but didn't---used them again unquilted. Worked fine but will try to get them quilted by this Thanksgiving. Oh yes-- they are reversible.

Beautiful! If you're like me, you'd better quilt them now or they'll still be unquilted come next T'giving. They are pretty...I love the Christmas colors.

Those are sweet!!! They would be great for my mom's table. Its round and the oblong placemats are a pain to use on it!!

Those are great! I love that they are reversible! The colors are very nice together! Great job!

Your placements are darling. Where did you find the directions or did you make them up. How cute. I'd love to make a set or two if you can tell me where you got the pattern or the dimensions of each blade on the stopsign shape. Thank you, thanks for sharing. Feathers |

I do not have a pattern. I saw a set in a quilt shop and the lady there told me how to make them. I will try to explain how to do it but not to good at giving directions. You use a Kaleido-Ruler. It takes 2 fat quaters of each color to make 4 placemats. I cut my wedges 81/2 inches(that is why a fat quater works so well folded in half it should be 9"). Sew the wedges alternating the colors. Cut a circle to go in the center and I just stitch it on by hand. Cut the back out of a solid color or make reversible. I use a cotton batting and the other ones I made I just quilted on the solid with heavy stippling. Hope this rough drawing helps you to see how I cut them. |
They are beautiful! I like the Thanksgiving side best - autumn is my favorite season.

Thank you, BDor. Tomorrow morning I'll get at the placemats and when done, I'll post them. Your directions are PERFECT! Thank you,
