Thanksgiving In Memory Wallhanging

1 Attachment(s)
When I saw a picture of this wall hanging, I knew I had to make it in memory of my DM who passed away at the end of October 4 years ago. Thanksgiving was one of her favorite holidays and a week before she passed, she asked to have Thanksgiving dinner early since she knew she wouldn't be around to celebrate. My brother and his family flew in from the East coast and we celebrated a full Thanksgiving feast in the middle of October.

The wall hanging is much bigger than I expected - DH says he could use it has a lap quilt. Most of the leaves have a word of importance and are attached by a snap. My thought is to take a leaf and say what we are thankful for this past year.

A lovely tribute to your Mom. I also lost my mother 4 years ago this October. Miss her so much.

Lovely. Your wallhanging is a wonderful tribute to your beloved mother... (My mother's favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, too. I will always miss her.)

A very special memory quilt! Thanksgiving sometimes gets pushed aside as a big meal and we forget to be really thoughtful about giving thanks for all we have. Your quilt will always be a reminder of your Mom and how to give thanks.
