No secrets just practice. I've only FMQ about 4-5 quilts and several pot holders and mug rugs. I've only did 3 on my Horizon but I love it. So much more room to manuver the quilt, but I was using a small Kenmore from Sears up until the end of April when my hubby bought me the Horizon. I still have lots to learn and much more practicing to do.
