This is a customer quilt I just finished quilting. I thought you might like to see the process that we went through.

I just took an on-line class called "Quilt Whisperer". One of the things that we learned to do is to break down the quilt into it's components. Most of these ideas came from the teacher, but I re-drew them, added some others, and gave the customer some choices.

This also proves (I HOPE!) that I CAN quilt better than I draw!

More pictures on my blog!

What a beautiful quilt job! And I just love the softness of the fabrics as some 30's fabrics are so loud. The fan block is a great block to show off those fabs with! She will be so pleased with it!

Thanks for the nice comments and encouragement!

I draw on the photo of the quilt using a wacom tablet and Adobe Photoshop Elements 8. I'm still learning the software. I have used Paint in the past, but this works a lot better.

Really, really pretty! I love 30's fabrics (through I've had my fill of them with my recent quilt, lol) and they just went wonderfully with this pattern. Your quilting is amazing!

Lovely quilting!!! I don't have that skill down very well yet. I am still using pantographs, stencils and tissue paper!! Hopefully I will learn to just try my freehand.....but I plan on ruining a lot of practice sandwiches to get there!!

cyd 02-06-2010 08:28 PM
