samroberts01 01-20-2010 02:33 PM

How funny I just saw these at Joanns today and thought I am not buying one I could just make one. Did you just make them or use a pattern? I would love to make one of these!

Miss Purple Shoes 01-20-2010 02:51 PM

Me too! They are great. I would love to make some for my girlfriends

Darn, wish I could go on the retreat!

pal 01-20-2010 08:17 PM

You did a great job on them! The quilter's will love them.

grammy Dwynn 01-21-2010 07:20 AM

Thank you, everyone

The links that that were shared are 'pretty' close to my pattern. I do like the idea that the 'bag' is removable, mine is not. I use regular rice for the pin cushion, so it would be a mess if one tried to wash them. So the velcro (hook & loop) or button is a great idea.

again thanks for the kudos

RedGarnet222 01-21-2010 08:07 AM

Oh This is great! I have been trying to think what the heck to buy/make my next door neighbor for her birthday this spring. She is a quilter, so this will be great! I will just add some pattern, blades, needles and a few fat quarters .. oh yeah! Thanks ever so much.

The gift thread catchers you made for your retreat are just so nice. there are some Lucky Ladies in that one!

dglvr 01-21-2010 08:33 AM

Nice job. Those are very cute.

Chele 01-21-2010 08:36 AM

craftybear 01-28-2010 05:34 PM

Hi,

Where did you find your strapping plastic for the thread catcher?

Karen

sewnsewer2 01-28-2010 05:42 PM

Thank you for the URL's.

I love yours!

craftybear 01-28-2010 05:45 PM

I just love the thread catchers and I have one stored in a cute basket so when I am sewing the hexagons will have my basket with me at all times.
